OUR MISSION
Season of Justice (SOJ) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing funding to law enforcement agencies and families to help solve cold cases. SOJ provides grants to law enforcement for advanced DNA analysis solutions, such as forensic genealogy and next-generation sequencing. The organization also awards grants to families to support awareness campaigns, search teams and other initiatives that can assist in pushing their cold cases forward. SOJ’s goal is to provide financial resources for both law enforcement and families in order to bring closure to those impacted by unsolved violent crimes.
Steve DuBois, a former career law enforcement officer with more than 30 years of experience, is the organization’s Executive Director. SOJ received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2021.

Our Executive Director
Steve DuBois is the Executive Director of Season of Justice (SOJ), where he oversees the strategic planning, programming, and growth of the nonprofit. He works with the board to fulfill the organization’s mission to provide financial resources to both law enforcement agencies and families in order to help solve cold cases and bring closure to those impacted by violent crimes.
Steve is a former career law enforcement officer with more than 30 years of experience within the Indianapolis Police Department and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He served several positions within the operations and investigations units of each department including Training Officer, Undercover Officer, Bomb Squad member, Homicide Detective Sergeant, and Narcotics Detective Sergeant.
Prior to joining SOJ, Steve was the Director of Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana from 2013 to 2018. He transformed the organization by spearheading new collaborative initiatives with local news outlets, schools, and law enforcement agencies. Through his efforts, tips to the Crime Stoppers hotline increased more than 180%. Steve led the nonprofit’s fundraising efforts, dramatically increasing the program’s revenue during his tenure. He also served as Director-At-Large on Crime Stoppers USA’s Board of Directors.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Ball State University and he currently resides in Zionsville, Indiana with his wife.
