Elisa Roberson
Aransas Pass, TX (September 3, 2024): Season of Justice is pleased to be able to support the extension of a billboard campaign for Blanca “Elisa” Roberson. Earlier this year, Lamar Advertising of Corpus Christi generously donated billboard space for 12 weeks. Elisa’s family purchased the vinyl and the billboard was installed in March. While most donated billboards are only up for a limited time, Elisa’s billboard remained up for several more months and attention on her case continued to grow. The billboard was finally scheduled to come down at the end of August, but thanks to the continued support of SOJ’s community we are proud to be able to extend this campaign an additional 36 weeks. Season of Justice hopes that extending the display of this billboard will encourage anyone with information about Blanca “Elisa” Roberson’s disappearance to come forward and bring answers to her family who have tirelessly advocated for her for 35 years.
On Sunday, August 6, 1989. Around 5:30 p.m., after spending the day at a friend’s house, 13-year-old Blanca “Elisa” Roberson came home to a phone call from another friend asking her to come over. In an effort to appease Elisa’s mother who warned her daughter it was getting late, the two young girls agreed to meet halfway between their homes at Kieberger Elementary School as they had done before. Elisa headed out to meet her friend, with a promise that her friend’s father would drive her home later in the evening. However, shortly after Elisa left her family received a call from the friend she was supposed to meet saying she never showed up at the park, and that there was no sign of Elisa.
After calling all of Elisa’s friends her family reported her missing to a police officer around 9:45 PM that evening, however, only the report was taken and the Robersons waited through a sleepless night before going into the Arsansas Pass Police Department themselves the next day, when action was taken.
The Aransas Pass Police Department organized searches that lasted weeks and even utilized tracking dogs that traced Elisa’s scent to the intersection of Goodnight Ave and 8th St., which would have been on Elisa’s way to Kieberger Elementary School. Investigators believe this indicates that somebody picked Elisa up in a vehicle at that intersection. Throughout the years several persons of interest have been examined but ultimately the case has gone cold, and investigators and the family fear foul play.
Dateline recently released an in-depth story about Elisa’s case and her family’s fight for justice. You can read that here.
Detectives are actively working this case and are hoping this extension will continue to generate new leads. Anyone with information should call the Aransas Pass PD Captain Kyle Rhodes at 361-758-5224 or use the button below to submit a tip to Tri-County Crime Stoppers. All tips are anonymous.
