Aidan Spear
Tacoma, WA – On January 24, 2022, 21-year-old Aidan Spear was ready to turn her life around and get the help she needed after years of combatting substance use and struggling with mental health. She planned to meet her mother, Jessica, that morning to enter treatment. Shortly before, Aidan messaged Jessica to say she’d be late but reassured her mom that she’d be there. At the time, Jessica didn’t realize it would be the last time she’d ever speak to Aidan. It wasn’t out of character for Aidan to go silent for a few days, but as the days continued to pass without any contact, Jessica’s worry increased. A few weeks later, some of Aidan’s friends reached out to Jessica to ask how Aidan was doing. It was then Jessica knew this time was different and filed a missing persons report with the Pierce Co. Sheriff’s Office. Over time, Jessica’s concern for her daughter’s well-being increased as she continued receiving messages from people who knew Aidan. These messages gave the impression that Aidan did not cease contact with her family on her own and that individuals well-known to Aidan with criminal histories may be involved in her disappearance.
Season of Justice is supporting Jessica’s efforts by funding a 24-week-long awareness campaign with two transit shelter panels prominently featured at the corner of Alaska St. in the area where Aidan was last seen. We’d like to thank the Pierce Co. Sheriff’s Office and Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers for their assistance and our donors, without whom none of this would be possible.
