Memphis, TN (August 2026) – More than twenty-seven years after Velecia “Lisa” Ann Lewis and her unborn daughter were tragically killed, her family’s pursuit of truth remains as determined as ever. In hopes of bringing renewed attention to the long-unsolved homicide and uncovering critical new leads, Season of Justice has partnered with Velecia’s cousin, Angela, to sponsor a dedicated billboard campaign in Memphis, Tennessee.

On the evening of January 6, 1999, 27-year-old Velecia, who was just weeks away from giving birth to her first child, was brutally attacked and killed inside her South Memphis apartment after an intruder forced entry into her home. The attack took the lives of both Velecia and her unborn baby girl. While initial law enforcement theories suggested the crime may have stemmed from a burglary, her loved ones have long believed the perpetrator was someone known to her. The newly installed billboard is strategically located on Poplar St. just west of Colonial in Memphis, TN, and will remain active through February 28th, 2027. The initiative represents a collaborative effort to put Velecia and her child’s homicide back in the spotlight and support Angela, who has worked tirelessly over the years to preserve her cousin’s legacy and advocate for justice.
