Pollyanna “Pam” Smotherman

Season of Justice Sponsors Billboard Seeking New Information in the 2020 Homicide of Pollyanna “Pam” Smotherman in Garden Ridge, TX.
Garden Ridge, TX (February 2026) –Season of Justice announces a new cold case billboard campaign located on Austin Highway on the northeast side of San Antonio. The billboard, located on O’Connor Rd near I-35, highlights the unsolved murder of Pollyanna “Pam” Smotherman, who was killed during an armed robbery on July 29, 2020. This billboard is part of a continued effort spearheaded by Pam’s sister to keep her case in the spotlight in hopes new information will lead to definitive answers and justice for her death.
Pollyanna Smotherman – Pam to those who loved her – was working the overnight shift at an E-Z Mart in the 19500 block of FM 3009 in Garden Ridge on July 29, 2020. Around 3:00 a.m., an unidentified masked man entered the store and demanded cash and lottery tickets. Despite Pam’s compliance with his demands, the suspect shot and killed her before fleeing the scene.
For nearly six years, Pam’s family, led by her sister Harriett, has tirelessly advocated for justice. The new billboard campaign, which will run for 16 weeks, aims to reach thousands of commuters in the northeast San Antonio area, reminding the public that Pam’s killer is still at large and that the case remains active.
“She knows that we’re not giving up,” Mendez said. “We will never give up.”
The billboard is part of a growing momentum in the case. Recently, the Garden Ridge Police Department requested assistance from the Texas Attorney General’s Office, and a state-appointed cold case investigator has begun reviewing the evidence.
Season of Justice is honored to support the Smotherman family’s continued search for justice.
The Smotherman family is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible for Pam’s death.
