Joanne Elaine Coughlin
Boardman, OH (June 3, 2024):
On Friday, December 27, 1974, Joanne had plans to visit the European Health Spa she’d recently become a member of before meeting her boyfriend that evening. That Monday, when she failed to show up for work, her family notified police. Joanne didn’t show up to meet her boyfriend as expected, and while it appeared she signed into the health spa that Friday, no one had seen her or her 1968 Ford Fairlane since. Several suspicious events occurred following Joanne’s disappearance that confirmed to Joanne’s family she didn’t leave on her own accord. On January 1, a woman attempted to withdraw money from Joanne’s bank account. Police tracked her and two additional male suspects down, but were unable to connect them with Joanne’s disappearance and the case quickly went cold. December 27, 2024, will mark 50 years Joanne’s family has been searching for her.
Season of Justice was able to sponsor a billboard at the intersection of Boardman-Canfield Rd. and Market St., which will remain up through the end of July. We hope this billboard reminds the community that Joanne is still missed and her family remains committed to finding her. Joanne was last seen heading to the European Health Spa in Boardman, OH and wearing blue jeans, black shirt, blue tie, green leather jacket and tan shoes. She was driving a blue 1968 Ford Fairlane with a white top, license plate H4482G. What may seem like a small piece of information could be huge in developing a lead to help solve Joanne’s cold case and bring her home.
