El Cajon, CA (October 2025) – Season of Justice announces a new cold case billboard campaign located on El Cajon Blvd. and 69th St. in El Cajon, California. The billboard, which will remain up until late December, highlights the unsolved disappearance of 19-year-old Jamie Peters, who vanished in 1988.

Jamie had recently moved from his mother’s home in La Mesa into an apartment roughly 11 minutes away in El Cajon. The last time his mother, Cheryl, saw him was on September 2, 1988, just ten days after his move. Jamie stopped by her house that night, dropped off his keys, and left in his 1970 VW Bug. When a week passed without word, Cheryl filed a missing persons report.

El Cajon Police Department interviewed Jamie’s roommate, who reported that Jamie left without saying anything and never returned. Three months later, on December 5, 1988, Jamie’s car was found more than 20 miles away, stripped, vandalized, and abandoned. Investigators spoke with numerous people over the years, and while rumors circulated, no suspects have ever been named. Authorities believe there are individuals who still hold crucial information about what happened to Jamie.

Season of Justice is honored to support Jamie’s family by sponsoring this billboard, which aims to renew public awareness and encourage anyone with information to come forward. We also wish to thank San Diego County Crime Stoppers for their partnership and ongoing efforts to amplify this campaign.
