Brandy Hutchins

Coal Hill, AR (November 2026) – Nearly thirty-eight years after 14-year-old Brandy Dawn Hutchins was brutally murdered, the effort to uncover the truth behind her homicide continues. In hopes of generating critical new leads and bringing long-overdue answers to her loved ones, Season of Justice has sponsored a dedicated billboard campaign in Johnson County, Arkansas.
On the evening of Thursday, November 10, 1988, just five days after celebrating her 14th birthday, Brandy was dropped off by her father at an abandoned house in Coal Hill, where she believed friends were throwing her a birthday party. Sensitive, caring, and longing to fit in, Brandy had recently confided in friends that she was pregnant and planned to share the news with her 16-year-old boyfriend that weekend. Two days later, on November 12, 1988, hunters discovered Brandy’s body concealed beneath the abandoned home. She had a single gunshot wound to her forehead. Investigators recovered her purse nearby containing a positive pregnancy test, though an autopsy later confirmed there was no evidence she had ever been pregnant. Shortly after the murder, her boyfriend left the state, and the abandoned house was subsequently destroyed by arson. Decades later, no arrests have been made, leaving the case unresolved.
To renew public awareness, Season of Justice has sponsored a billboard strategically located along I-40 in Clarksville, AR, active since May 1st and scheduled to run through December 31, 2026. The campaign seeks to reignite interest in the investigation, reach travelers and residents across the region, and ensure Brandy is never forgotten.
Brandy’s family, along with law enforcement, urge anyone who may hold information regarding the 1988 homicide of Brandy Dawn Hutchins to step forward. Even the smallest recollection or detail could provide investigators with the vital lead needed to secure justice. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at (479) 754-2200.
